Regret
By Scryer Child

Every day I wake, world like a weight on my chest, unsatiated, mentally breathless, feelings numbed, feeling spun, pain just to swing my legs from the bed rest
Knowing my day is gonna be fun, endless tests in hues of those above your head deciding whats best for you, in lieu of your own two cents...bottom-line ignorance

Criminal in providence, these rhymes connotate prominent correlations between covalent visions that promise obscene things to battle contrite
feelings seething within every fiber of my being, and the weakness of my sanity. It's the profanity of inner-self spilling outta me

[Hook:
The prison of life made me a prisoner inside my mind, locked tight in a fight to reclaim what light survives the growing night behind my eyes

Waning sight, suffocating blight: a reprise of every time I failed 'me', mourning cries promising it was the last crime that would find me...now only lies confine me.]

Alone -though others fill the room on phones in hypnotic glow- attoning silent, so low, smothered, breath booms like a violent blow, bothered to breaking but it'll never show,
Until overflow causes the reckoning Ive fled for ages, cracks begin to show. Concrete pages crumble into haunting graces; stone-etched faces smiling in sorrow.

Life feels low, so I hide in the shadows. Pride is shallow if you cannot swallow it when it matters, allow your fasçade to shatter when the pitter-pattering tears of misspent adolescent years are made of sadness, not laughter: unhealthy reminescence and the mad-hatter aftermath of mapping life's next chapter

[Hook:
The prison of life made me a prisoner inside my mind, locked tight in a fight to reclaim what light survives the growing night behind my eyes

Waning sight, suffocating blight: a reprise of every time that I failed 'me', mourning cries promising it was the last crime that would find me...now only lies confine me.]

Distantly, I hear my other self calling as if in a dream, i perk my ears listening, acknowledging the sprawling task that lay before me, inevitably stalling,
But still pushing full-speed ahead, walling off the fears in my head telling me I haven't bled enough to have cred, BS'd myself by myself, final verdict read

Sped up by being fed up with my life led, tied up to the tire-tread of life, pent up energy upping me, sent up, spiralling until virally bent up, knives held up
The pen holds my hand, demands ink, a lyrical stand in reprimand of phantom ends that link to the calling of man to solidarity, where plans of equality seemingly counteract
